"I have learnt so much in such a short time because Carter's individualized teaching method is focused on efficient, time saving and ergonomically coherent principles."
- Nina Knight, student
METHODOLOGY
I incorporate a flexible methodology into my teaching. As no two students are the same, for each student I create individual goals, lesson plans, and weekly assignments.
Even while no two lessons will be the same,
each will include multiple components, including developing a pain-free solid technique and individual sense of musicianship with respect to what the composer wrote. Students will also learn theoretrical concepts as they pertain to repertoire being studied. Some lessons (depending on the student's interest) may include improvisation and extended techniques.
I can also be persuaded to explore loop and/or effects pedals with those students wishing to play with rock and alternative bands.
For those wishing to perform in an ensemble, I offer a Cello Chamber Music Program in addition to participation in the OC Cello Choir.
Below is a video mash-up of the first public Cello Chamber Music Concert that occurred on June 20, 2015.
